Hello Family and Friends,
I thought I'd start a blog as a way of sharing with you all what life has been like since Kristopher and I were married last June, and as a means of keeping in touch.
After shuffling around a few places after we were married, Kristopher and I finally moved into our new house- "new" as in our little yellow house that was built in 1946. It has it quarks but with hard work from us and our families, we were able to make it into a two suite place with upstairs and downstairs living. We are currently living in the downstairs and are loving our place. We were able to design it ourselves; everything from where the walls should go to the hardware on the cupboards. This will be an on going project and maybe we'll never be done, but we love having something to work on together.
It's funny how things change when you own something of your own. Now that I'm the one cleaning the bathrooms, I can understand why my mom wouldn't want the bathroom used for at least an hour after she cleaned it. And I think I finally understand why dad didn't want nails in the walls-the Backstreet Boys poster just isn't worth the sanding.
As far as the rest of our lives go, Kristopher works hard as a property manager. He is hoping to do some courses soon to get a license to manage other people's properties. He often comes home with stories of tenants who are one fry short of a Happy Meal, which makes dinner time always interesting. As for me, in my final semester of school (BSc in Nutrition and Food Science) and am also working part time at a weight loss clinic. I'm enjoying it, but like anything new, I wish I could just understand it all!
Here in Edmonton it appears as though spring is on its way! The snow has been melting steadily and so hopefully the -20 C days are behind us. It'll be good to get the yard cleaned up as reno's left some building materials under the snow. Also, the firepit that the previous owners created is currently placed right over the gas line, so we'll be wanting to change that as soon as we can.
For the time being we are keeping well and enjoying our life together. We thank all of you for your thoughts and support over the past months and we hope this blog will help us keep in touch more often!
