Our First Year!

Wow! This year has just flown by! For our first year anniversary, Kristopher planned a wonderful trip to the mountains. We left right after I got home from work and drove 4 hours to Canmore where we spent the two nights. We arrived just before midnight and since they overbooked the suites, ours got upgraded! That was a nice surprise. On Saturday, we left for Banff which was a 30 minute drive away from out hotel. We walked around the town and had lunch at a local eatery. Afterwards we went to Banff Upper Hotsprings where we relaxed in the hot pools. It was very relaxing. What was more relaxing was that Kristopher got us a couple's massage for a whole hour. I think we both nearly fell asleep. On Sunday, we woke up late and ventured into the town of Canmore, where we stayed. Both towns are great for walking or finding hiking trails.

And if any of you are golf fans, add this to your wish list!

 The Hot Springs...

We returned home on Sunday evening and caught up on housework and a James Bond Movie. We don't have much left on the house to finish except for some minor work like baseboards and the home decor side of things.
 Our Bathroom
 Kitchen
 Counter where we eat
 The Living room

I've also tried out my gardening side. The beautiful Lilac tree in our backyard got me inspired to add some colour to our front yard.

Please continue to keep us in your prays; Kristopher starts a new job this week with a property management firm so pray that it all go smoothly.

Until next time!
Love, Andrea and Kristopher

Our Life So Far

Hello Family and Friends,

I thought I'd start a blog as a way of sharing with you all what life has been like since Kristopher and I were married last June, and as a means of keeping in touch.

After shuffling around a few places after we were married, Kristopher and I finally moved into our new house- "new" as in our little yellow house that was built in 1946. It has it quarks but with hard work from us and our families, we were able to make it into a two suite place with upstairs and downstairs living. We are currently living in the downstairs and are loving our place. We were able to design it ourselves; everything from where the walls should go to the hardware on the cupboards. This will be an on going project and maybe we'll never be done, but we love having something to work on together.

It's funny how things change when you own something of your own. Now that I'm the one cleaning the bathrooms, I can understand why my mom wouldn't want the bathroom used for at least an hour after she cleaned it. And I think I finally understand why dad didn't want nails in the walls-the Backstreet Boys poster just isn't worth the sanding.

As far as the rest of our lives go, Kristopher works hard as a property manager. He is hoping to do some courses soon to get a license to manage other people's properties. He often comes home with stories of tenants who are one fry short of a Happy Meal, which makes dinner time always interesting. As for me, in my final semester of school (BSc in Nutrition and Food Science) and am also working part time at a weight loss clinic. I'm enjoying it, but like anything new, I wish I could just understand it all!

Here in Edmonton it appears as though spring is on its way! The snow has been melting steadily and so hopefully the -20 C days are behind us. It'll be good to get the yard cleaned up as reno's left some building materials under the snow. Also, the firepit that the previous owners created is currently placed right over the gas line, so we'll be wanting to change that as soon as we can.

For the time being we are keeping well and enjoying our life together. We thank all of you for your thoughts and support over the past months and we hope this blog will help us keep in touch more often!
